GET STARTED WITH A RUNNING CLINIC
Now that the warmer weather is here, it's time to get out your running shoes and begin training for the New Hamburg Classic Races. This year's events will be held at the recently completed Wilmot Recreation Complex on June 7. The organizers of the event have decided to hold a number of training sessions to help people reach their goals of completing one of the four running events of the Classic. There will be free training offered for the 8km, 3km, 1km and 200m races. More details are available at www.newhamburg8kclassic.com This training will start and finish at Absolute Fitness facility on Hincks Street in New Hamburg. This training is open to any and all persons who wish to begin a running program, or to just hone their running skills for the June 7 races. To start, anyone interested should be at the gym by 5 p.m. on April 28. The plan at the moment is to have training runs every Tuesday at 5 p.m., Thursday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m. up until the week before the race date of June 7. At some point after the groups have been established we will move the training runs out to the actual race course at WRC. Anyone who already has a background in running is welcome to come out and help pace the different groups. For more information please call Ted Seyler at 519-662-2131.
